No I am trying to do two things here....first i want to know if in cell M15 =
L then I need an X, if it doesn't = L then leave it blank, but if T15= BA I
need it to come back a blank no matter if M15 = L or not.

That would make your 'combined' formula...
IF(or(M15="L", T15="BA"),"X","")
