Hi!
Yes, you can use wildcards with MATCH:
=IF(ISERROR(MATCH("*"&A10&"*",$C$1:$C$4713,0)),"", A10)

In Excel 2003, I have a list of names in column A and
column C; I need to
find any duplicates between the two columns. Column A
has 469 rows and
Column C has 4713 rows. Example -- Column A -- Duck
Donald and Column B --
Duck Donald
I found the formula below and it does work, but I need to
know if I can use
a wildcard character in this formula to also find for
instance: in Column A
-- Duck Donald and in Column B -- Duck Donald D. The
difference being the
middle initial D. Any suggestions are greatly
appreciated.
=IF(ISERROR(MATCH(A10,$C$1:$C$4713,0)),"",A10)
