If your column contains numbers as well as dates then a function may help

Alt+F11 to open VB editot. Right click 'This Workbook' and insert module and
paste this in

Function datecount(rng As Range)
For Each c In rng
If IsDate(c) Then datecount = datecount + 1
Next
End Function

From the worksheet call with
=datecount(A:A)
