Default How to change color in cell when there is input
Select col A (A1 active)
Click Format Conditional Formatting
Formula is: =ISTEXT(A1)
Click Format Patterns tab select "No color"
OK out

Select col B (B1 active)
Click Format Conditional Formatting
Formula is: =ISNUMBER(B1)
Click Format Patterns tab select "No color"
OK out
