You could create a Custom Format : #,##0,_);(#,##0,)
FormatCellsNumber tab
Under Category, select Custom
and enter:
#,##0,_);(#,##0,)
in the type box.
NOTE: doing that won't change the actual value of the number, so 5,000,000
will still be 5 million, but it'll look like this: 5,000
