Default Excel 2002: Unstable colour settings

Dear Sir,

I am using MS Office 2000 and 2003 which run on 3 separate servers on Window
2000 OS.

The Excel 2002 has been installed with the Excel 2007 Compatibility Pack.

I noticed that the colour setting (colour customization) of the Excel 2002
Worksheet is unstable.

When the file is saved and reopen later, all the colour settings return to
its default usually in darker colors. Usually I need to reset the colour for
the document to be presentable.

This problem is more eminent when the file size is large i.e. more that 5
MB.

May I know if this is caused by a defect in the program ?

If it is, can MS prepare some patches to rectify this problem ?

I would ensure that the server is always online to receive these patches or
updates.

If this problem is not caused by a defect in the software, may I know what
must I advise my IT department to do for fixing this problem,

Thanks

Low
