File already open
Hi Jim,
it turned out to be a problem with our Sage plugin, when i disabled it
everyting was fine.
Thanks for your help anyway.

The file opens twice because you have both %1 and "Use DDE". Since you're
concerned about the slow opening in Excel 2007 you should uncheck Use DDE.
The effect of this however that each time you double-click a file on Windows
Explorer a new Excel instance will be used. With DDE one instance is used.

| Hi Jim,
|
| Thanks for the reply.
|
| i tried to delete the "%1" but it doese not delete. i clicked ok on the
| windows but when i open it agin it is still there. I am an administrator
on
| this PC but ye cannot delete, not sure how to delete it.
|
| I added the "%1" as it was recommended in one website to overcome a
delay
| problem. Excel used to take 1-2 mins to open a file so i added the "%1"
which
| fixed the delay.
|
| Could you help more?

| I'd guess that if you went into My Computer, Tools, Folder Options,
File
| Types, found XLS, clicked Advanced, selected Open and clicked Edit you
would
| find a "%1" at the end of the "Application used..." command line. If
so,
| remove it and OK your way out.

| | Hi,
| |
| | I have installed office 2007 in Windows XP SP2. Every time i double
click
| on
| | an Excel file to open it, i get the following msg
| |
| | "test.xls is already open, reopening will cause any changes you made
to be

| |
| | i have searched for this and one suggestion was to register the
Excel with
| | "excel.exe /regserver"
| |
| | But this did not fix the problem.
| |
| | Anyone could help with tihs?
| |
| | Thanks in advance.
