Default Counting Combo Drop Down Box Selections

An easier way to do this whole thing is to make 9 cells each contain a list
validation refering to a range that has the programs typed in correctly.
Data, Validation, List Validation, Source data range that you created. Then
us =countif(H2:H10,{"First Program","Second Program","Third Program", etc. })
OR =9-COUNTBLANK(H2:H10)

If you want to use the combo box, you need each of the combo boxes to have a
separate link cell that contains the combo boxes selection so that you can us
the countif function. To do this go to the properties of the combo box and
enter a link cell. Then use a function to work off the link cells. If you
protect the worksheet by locking it down, you need to make sure to unlock
those link cells.

You may need to give a little more information if this doesn't help because
as I read your problem, I am not sure if this anwer is what you are looking
for.

I have a column in my spreadsheet (2003 Version) that each row has a combo
drop down box (9 options) to identify the specific program for that record.
I used the combo box feature to avoid misspelled programs resulting in
counting issues. Is there any counting function that will count specific
selections from combo drop down boxes?
