Default In using the formula for Product (A2:A4,2), why times 2?

Thanks, I got the formula from the Micro-soft excel help page as an example
and I was just trying to figure out why I would multiply by 2 in the end for
this particular example- thanks anyway....

We don't know, because we don't know what your formula is trying to
calculate.
If your formula is =PRODUCT(A2:A4,2), the result will be =A2*A3*A4*2, but
while we can see the answer, we don't know the question for which you
decided that formula was the answer.

I don't understand, (I know I forgot this part of math), why I would
multiply
by 2 - why do I need to double my answer?

Thanks,
Felicia (totally forgot)
