I have been working right along in about 8 worksheets now; opening
and closing them and then this morning I tried to merge some cells
and I could not either by the icon on the toolbar or through format
cells. Does anyone have any ideas? I have no protected worksheets
in this workbook.

What does "I could not" mean? What happened, exactly?
