Default Tab color problem

Its WORKBOOK protection that is preventing you from changing tab colors,
Worksheet protection on or off lets you change tab colors.

Can't you remove the WORKBOOK protection, change tab colors and then
re-apply the workbook protection?

Only problem is....I can't remove protection. It has to stay there. So I am
without color, correct?

REmoving protection would be the next thing to do

I have done that already, and it does not change anything. I do have it
protected, with certain permissions on it. WIll that not let the tab color be
changd?

It sounds as if you're working with a shared workbook. You will need to
unshare the workbook by clicking TOOLS in the menu, selecting SHARE WORKBOOK
and then remove the checkmark from the ALLOW EDITING... check box on the
EDITING tab of the dialog box.

When I go to change the tab color, it is greyed out. How do I fix this?
