Default Flawed scatter plot function

I don't know why you started with a blank chart. Had you selected the data
first? Excel detects the active cell and the range around it, and plots the
data it suspects you want.

You can select the chart and press Ctrl+1 (numeral one) to format the
series. Go to the marker tab and select a marker, then go to the line tab
and remove the line. It's not nearly as easy as it was in Excel 2003.

I always use scatter plots to visualize my data and after I upgraded to
Excel
2007, something weird started to happen. What I do to is to Insert --
Scatter -- "Scatter with only markers", then I get a blank chart. Now I
select the chart and type in "Series(, x range, y rang, 1)" and hit enter,
now it gives me a chart with both markers and lines, so I have to go back
to
Insert -- scatter -- "Scatter with only markers" again and get rid of
the
connecting line. I'd love to hear suggestions on how to fix this, this is
really annoying.
