Default PivotTable field name is not valid - cannot create

The range that you've selected as the source data probably includes a
blank cell in the heading row. Maybe there's a hidden column, or you've
included an extra column to the right of the data.

I keep getting the invalid field name message when I try to create a pivot
table, and the wizard won't let me go any further. What can I do?
