Default A line in the middle of my doc causes Word to treat one doc as two

Frank

You would most likely get better help over in a Word news group.

The Excel news groups are kinda specific to Excel application.

Working with XP and Word 2003, I created a 200 page document. I pieced it
together (cut and paste) from 40 separate files. On page 81, there is a solid
line which causes Word to treat the 200 page doc as two documents. For
example when I create a Table of Contents or use the F5 Search or Find page
commands, Word will only go to page 81 where the line is. I tried Borders
and Shading, eliminating Endnotes, and checking out Text Box without success.
BTW the line becomes a rectangle box with a solid line in the middle when I
go to print view and right click. Otherwise the cursor has no effect on the
line.
