Default sorting numbers with decimal points

It won't. You've got text in the cell, not numbers, so a 1 will sort before
a 9.

The easiest way may be to use Data/ Text to Columns to separate the elements
of the cell into 3 different columns, then select the 3 columns and sort
(then concatenate them back if you need to, but you're better off keeping
the elements separate if you can).

I am trying to sort numbers like this in one cell:
.875 x 1.655 x 96.75
.500 x 1.800 x 97
.875 x 1.655 x 108.75

I can get the first 2 sets of numbers to sort but the last one sorts the
108.75 before the 96.75. That number is higher, how do I get to it to
sort
that last?
