That sounds like a pretty large file for such a small amount of data/formulas.
Do you have any pictures in the workbook?
Do you have any event macros in the workbook?
Do you have lots of conditional formatting?
I bet if you copy each sheet and paste|special formulas into new worksheets in a
different workbook, the speed will increase and the size will go down.
If you have macros, you'll have to copy them, too--sames with names, page setup
and all those things that you won't remember until you do it the second or third
time!
And here are a couple of sites that discuss slow performance. The first is by
Charles Williams and the second by David McRitchie:

http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/slowresp.htm
And one more thing...
Do you have Google Desktop Search installed--or any of those search programs?
Try disabling them to see if that helps.

I have a file that is fairly basic. 6 short worksheets (8 column x 20 rows
max on each). The file is 4,116 KB. For some reason one of the worksheets has
a very slow respone time to key strokes. Any ideas as to what would cause
this slow response?
