Default sumif

=SUMPRODUCT(--(MONTH(E1:E5000)=10),G1:G5000)

note that you cannot use the whole column using this formula unless you have
excel 2007 so you can't use E:E or G:G you need to specify the range

If you want to do this for a lot of different months you might want to
change it to

=SUMPRODUCT(--(MONTH(E1:E5000)=10),--ISNUMBER(E1:E5000),G1:G5000)

then just change the 10 to whatever index number of the month you want to
use

I imported a set of activities from Project that I use for a Milestone
Chart.
I want to use SumIf to total a separate column of data for a particular
month. For instance, I want to sum up data for only October 2007. I can't
get
the formula correct using and < in the SUmIF criteria. This is what I
have
that isn't working:

=SUMIF(E:E,"10/1/2007 5:00:00 PM and <10/31/2007 5:00:00 PM",G:G)
