I did a right click on the icon and went the to the security tab. Here I
gave all users full access and this allows users to make changes and then
save under the same name.
Thanks.

No that would be the Folder properties, Security tab.

I go to the File tab and there is no Persmission tab under it. In other
searches the spreadsheet does not appear to be protected/restricted in any
way.
Is there another area to look for the Permission tab? Or anything?

Everyone, Full permission?

From what I can tell there are none. No restricted or unrestricted. Does
this help?

What are the permissions on the folder the file resides in?

I checked this and the file was not saved as a read only. Also when you or
someone else opens the file it did not state the file was a read only and
that you could not make changes to it.
Any other suggestions?

Sounds like the workbook has been saved as a "read-only recommended" file.
Have a look at FileSave AsToolsGeneral Options and clear that checkbox and
re-save.

I create a spreadsheet and save it. When another user opens the file and
makes changes they cannot save under the same name. They have to save as
"copy of." What do I need to change so that they can make changes and save
under the same name in the same directory?
