Default Pivot table field list missing

Hi

Likewise, I have created hundreds of PT's in all versions of XL through to
2007 and I have never experienced what you are saying.
Would you like to mail me a copy of your workbook, and i will see if I can
figure out what is going wrong.

To mail direct

I've created hundreds of Pivot Tables in past versions and plenty in 2007
too. This table had headers, but Fields in Pivot Table were empty. It is
bound to work, only when no bug exists.

Hi

If you Inserttable first and say this table has headers, then create a
PT
from this, it is bound to work.
If you are defining the range yourself, then there has to be a header row
for PT's to work (in all versions of Excel), so you must include the
header
row in your range.

The same bug happened to me. I tried creating a Pivot Table and no
header
fields were shown in the Field List. So, shut down, rebooted and
created
a
brand new file to test. Same issue. Excel will no longer allow me to
create
Pivot Tables, since without header fields, you cannot define the Pivot
Table.
No errors are thrown, and this is EXTREMELY annoying.

I am currently using Excel 2007, and was able to create Pivot tables
without
a problem. However now when I highlight a range of data and click on
Insert
pivot table, there are no fields in the pivot table list for me to
create
the
table.
How can I can i get these fields (effectively the headers of the data
columns) in the pivot table when Excel isn't recognizing them.
