Default Format a cell

'10/50

the single quote will avoid the misinterpretation but will not be visible or
affect use of the data in the cell.

I have an excel spreadsheet that I use to track data. When I went to enter
the data , 10/50, into the cell, it is changed to Oct 50. It is formatted
the same as previous cells and they don't make the change. I tried changing
the format to allow fractions, but then it changes it to 1/5. Does anyone
know how to fix this so that it reads the 10/50???? Thanks for any advice
that can be given!
