Hi,

If the period can exceed 24 hours then you need a date as well as a time for
start and finish so in your start time cell (Say A1) enter:-

1/1/2007 06:00

In your end time cell (Say B1) enter

2/1/2007 22:00

now simply do a subtraction = B1-A1
Note that B1 is the later time. Format the cell as [hh]:mm and your done.
