Default Maintaining Formulas

Hi,

By default all the cells in Worksheet are locked. Click the cell which has a
formula and unlock it. The procedure for unlocking a cell is as follows;

1. On the Format menu, click Cells. In the Format Cells dialog box, click
the Protection tab and clear the Locked check box and then click OK. This
will help you enter new values in the protected sheet.
2. Select the cell which has the formula and retain the default setting €“
Locked in the Protection tab in the Format cells dialog box.
3. On the Tools menu, click Options. The Options dialog box appears. Click
the View tab. Under the Windows option, clear the €śZero values€ť check box and
click Ok to return to the worksheet.
4. On Tools menu, point to Protection, and then click Protect Sheet. The
Protect Sheet dialog box appears. Select the Worksheet and Content of locked
cells check box. Enter a password in the €śPassword to Unprotect sheet€ť text
box. In the €śAllow all users of this worksheet to€ť list, select €śLocked
Cells€ť and €śSelect Unlocked cell€ť check boxes, and then OK. In the €śConfirm
Password€ť dialog box, enter the password in the €śReenter password to proceed€ť
text box, Click OK to return to the worksheet.
5. On the File menu, click Save as, and type a file name in the Save As text
box.
6. Open the File again. Enter new values in the unlocked cell, the formula
locked cell automatically displays the computed value.

How do I maintain a formula in a cell when the data is cleared? I thought by
creating a templet the problem would be resolved, but I am not having any
luck. Any ideas??
