=SUMPRODUCT(--(MOD(COLUMN(A1:K1),2)=0),A1:K1)
or
=SUMPRODUCT(--(MOD(COLUMN(A1:K1),2)=1),A1:K1)

(first formula gives even numbered columns, second gives
odd numbered columns)
