Happy to help.
I forgot to mention that Groups are activated in one of two ways:
If Sheet1 is active, hold down Shift and click on Sheet3 to group sheets 1,
2 and 3.
or
If Sheet1 is active, hold down Ctrl and click on Sheet3 to group sheets 1
and 3 only.

It means you are editing more than one worksheet at the same time.
Look at the Sheet tabs at the bottom of the screen. Find the ones that
appear white--those are the grouped sheets. Make a note of them.
Then, to undo it, right-click on the current sheet name and click ungroup
sheets.
Now, go to each of the sheets that were in the group and make sure you
didn't damage your file with edits intended for only one sheet.
If there is damage, you may need to return to a backup of the file or
consider closing it without saving changes.

While entering data in my workbook, I noticed that the file name now appeared
as "incom_expense_2005 [group}. Data entered on one sheet appeared on the
next sheet, though I cannot find any linkage between the cells, and the two
cells ares not set up to be linked. Also, data from the first cell sometimes
appears on the second sheet, though it is transparent - you can still see the
original data. I cannot figure this out and had to rebuild my sheet. Please
help. This is the second time it happened. All other worksheets operate
properly, so excel does not seem to be the problem.
