Default sum between dates

If I understand what you want dates in B
count
=sumproduct((b2:b22=a5)*(b2:b22<=a6))
sum C
=sumproduct((b2:b22=a5)*(b2:b22<=a6)*c2:c22)

I am trying to sum numbers from sheet one which has dates in column a range
name date07, and column B range name hours07.

I am trying to gather this info on sheet two where

in column a I have a date in cell a5 another date in cell a6
what I am trying to get is a formula
sumif(date07,=a5 &<=a6) that's the logic but of course it doesn't
compute.

Thanks for any help
