Default Excel's minimum indent is too large

Left Indent alignment options are too large in Excel 2007. Selecting a left
indent for cells of just one character, actually indents the cell contents
1.5 to 2 characters. Furthermore, there are times when the user may even
want a smaller indent, less than one character. Why not allow the user to
set fractional indents in inches, centimeters, or points? This would give
the user true control over the spacing of the indents from very small to very
large. Why force the user to settle for less flexibility than the printing
device is capable of delivering?
