Default Appending columns or calculation to pivot tables

Hi John

Any column outside of the PT will not inherit any of the properties of
the PT, so you cannot click on a cell in this column and expect it to
drill down.

Even though there is no value in the Total or Subtotal cell of your % of
column within the PT, double clicking on this blank cell will still
drill down to the underlying data.

Hi All,

I am having a hard time with a pivot table. I want to append a column
on to
the side of a pivot table and have that column drill down and up with
the
rest of the pivot table. The column will contain a calculation that is
a % of
but on the subtotals not just of the total. I read somewhere that it
is not
possible to use the pivot table formula '%of' on subtotals, so I find
putting
the calculation in a column beside the pivot table is my only option.
That
would be all well and good if this column would drill up and drill
down with
the rest of the pivot table.. but it doesn't. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
John
