Default Excel file locked

Yes I have done that for now and that does solve the issue, but I would
still like to know how that error came about and if there is a way to fix it
without having to copy everything to a new workbook.

Is it possible to change that file's name to, let say, "123" first, then try
to open this "123" file. If it works, save as a new file at once. Maybe can
solve your problem.

I did a solve a similar problem before by using thie method.
I hope it can helps.

Hi all,

I have a shared Excel file that the buyers at our company work in. Today
they started getting an error saying the following:

"File is locked. In order to save changes to the file, you can either close
the file before making any changes and then re-open it, use Save As (File
menu) to save the file using another filename, or turn off Shared Workbooks
and then save the file."

When I looked at the workbook after they reported errors it is no longer
shared. It said I had exclusive access to the file so I tried making it
shared again and then saving it but it says file is locked and that command
cannot be completed.

I'm out of ideas...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Mike
