Default Cannot remove Read Only Attribute

What you are suggesting using "ctrl-a" for, is EXACTLY what the tick-box
provides for, you are making too much work for yourself.

Instead of changing the attributes of the folder, try changing the attributes of
the files in the folder.

ctrl-a
is a quick way to select all the files/folders in a folder.

My data hard disk failed and I purchased a data recovery software, "DTI Data
Recovery", and was able to recover my files. I notice that all of the files
that I recovered are marked as read only so I go into properties and uncheck
the folder. returning to the file, I take another look at it and it is still
marked as read only. I can't seem to remove the atribute for some reason.
Help........ Oh ya, (going into EXCEL I cannot see the read only check on the
.xls file)
