Turn on the 'Show items with no data' option that Roger described
Then, right-click a cell in the date field of the pivot table
ChooseGroup and Show DetailGroup
Select Years and Days, click OK

I tried this, but it did not force the pivottable to display the entire range
of dates. It displays only those dates for which there is actually data.

I often use PivotTables to count events that occur on specific dates.
The
PivotTable only shows those dates that have at least one event
associated
with them; however, I am also interested in seeing which dates had no
events.
Is there a way to force the pivot table to show the dates as a series,
so
that dates with 0 events are displayed? For example, if I want to show
the
number of patients admitted from 12/1/06 to 12/7/06, but in fact there
were
only admissions on 12/1, 12/3, and 12/5, the pivottable will show me
only 3
dates, but I want to see all 7 dates in the range.
