Default Dollars v. Dates

I have 2 separate comparison charts I'd like to combine, (I think using a
Gantt Chart). I need to compare dollars spent v. dollars left by project
date. Any ideas??

That sounds more like a job for a waterfall chart to me.

Although I suppose you could call it a sort of Gantt chart rotated
through ninety degrees, with the bars running along the money axis
instead of along the time axis :-) But more usually that sort of graph
is called a waterfall.

Is that a good way to show how the money goes for you? If not, maybe
just a simple combination column and line chart: the line showing money
left at time (t), and the columns showing money spent during the period
(t-1) to (t)?

What good graphs doing this sort of thing have you seen that you liked?
There's no need to be original, shameless stealing of the most excellent
solution around is usually the way to go.
