If you want to make a two dimensional table from columns, then try a Pivot
Table:

for example, starting from:

Alpha value beta
A 1 x
A 3 y
B 5 x
B 7 y
B 13 z
A 2 w

In A1 thru C7 we can make:

w x y z
A 2 1 3
B 5 7 13
