Default Why does text in a cell appear as a line of '#' symbols?

I have typed text into a cell, and when I select the cell, the text is
readable in the upper editor line. However, if you click into another cell,
the original cell displays only '##############'. Word wrap is on, and I
have compared the cell properties of the rogue cell with that of others -
there doesn't appear to be any difference between setup. Extending the
height or width of the cell does not appear to fix it.
Is there any way I can get rid of it?

Try double-clicking on the right border of the column. It sounds like you're
not expanding the column far enough to include all of the data being returned.
Double-clicking will automatically expand the column to the width necessary.
