Alan has given you a good way to deal with it on your own. If all that
fails, and if you feel comfortable with it, you can send the workbook to me
as an attachment to an email and I'll crack the password(s) on the
book/sheets and send it back to you - or just email you a password that works
on it. I have a commercial tool to provide a password that will access
protected Excel files/sheets.

Excel's workbook/worksheet password algorithm is so 'weak' that you don't
actually have to come up with the exact password, just one that ends up
creating the same hashed code, so dictionary attacks are effective and fast.

can't edit the program since it is password protected. i tried various
programs downloaded from the internet but they can only crack 2-3 characters
only since those are trial versions.

is there any free software that you could recommend for me to edit the file?
or is there a way to manually override the password protection? please share
what you know. thanks! =)
