Default Sumif for payroll

I want to track overtime pay. I want it to sum Regular time up to 40 hours
and anything over 40 hours as overtime pay.

I tried something like this equation, but it is incorrect:
=SUMIF(((M22-40,)+(O22-40)),"<1")


Week 1 Week 2 Regular Overtime
Shifts Hrs Shifts Hrs
4 48 3 36
