Default Drawing toolbar.

You are right you cant split the default cell in excel. You first have to
merge two cells together. Then you can split the cells to return them back
to there normal condition.

Merging cells can be done in the format - Cell - allign menu. therre is a
check box to perform a merge. Uncheck the box to split. I think the term
spilt is better than Un-Merge.

Please describe how to split a cell.

I keep stating it is impossible but have been known to be wrong.

Excell automatically hides items on the toolbar when these item arren't
used. You can get the missing item by clicking on the double-right arrrows
in the toolbar. My toolbar has 3 sets of these double right arrows. I don't
like when Excel hides items on the toolbar either.

There used to be a pencil on my drawing toolbar that would allow me to draw a
line in a cell that would split it into two separate cells. How do I get
that function back? We recently installed Office 2003 at work, was this
function removed from this new version?
