Default Disengage function that prompts same entry from other cell

Thanks, David. It's easy when you know how. I'm used to working with numbers
and formulas - focus has changed - child education, now that a 6 year old
who needs extra curricular encouragement has entered the equation

I have created a child's spelling game that uses the "if" function to tell
the user if the word spelt is correct or not. The correct spelling is in a
hidden cell above the cell where the word is to be entered. When you
commence
typing in the word, eg "b" for "ball", excel prompts the word ball as it
recognises it from the cell in the spreadsheet. I want to know if and how
I
can turn off this prompting
