Default Why can you only use logrithm scale on the y-axis?

Dave -

The XY (Scatter) chart type is the only type that has values on both the X
and Y axis.

(Other charts treat data for one of the axes as equally-spaced labels.)

I'm trying, unsuccessfully, to make a chart with a logrithmic scale on the
x-axis. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
