Default Some Excel files won't open

I am using Excel 2K/Win 2K. My company pushed out a security patch from Msoft
(925938 and 927198). Now there are some files that I used to be able to open
that will not open as well as some new files that I have received via email
that won't open. When opening the file, I can see the title of the file in
the title bar but the screen is all gray. Other Excel files open fine. I
thought the window was maybe hidden but the Window menu is totally grayed
out. No errors are displayed. Users with Excel 2003 can open the files fine.
The one file has 2 sheets with only a few formulas - no charts, no ptables,
nothing like that. There are at least 4 users that I know of with Excel
2K/Win 2K having the same problem with these files. We all have had the
recent security patches applied. I even had someone with Excel 2003 do an
Open and Repair and resave it - Excel 2000 still can't open the files.
Another odd thing - if an Excel 2003 user copies the data and pastes into a
new file and saves that file - Excel 2000 can open this new file. Has anyone
else had any issues with the recent patches? Any other ideas what might be
causing this?
Thanks!!!
