But you can open excel (the program itself) and use File|Open and everything
works ok?

If yes:

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's
factory defaults.

If no, maybe more of an explanation of what you're doing and what goes wrong.
