Default Values

Go to the Insert menu, choose Name, then Define. Enter P in the "Names In
Workbook" box and enter your numeric value in the "Refers to" box. You can
then do formulas like

=P+1

Is there a way to make a letter have an assigned numerical value.
Example: If the letter P is entered into a blovk then it will be
recognized as 12.25.
