Default Record changing cell data into a column or range

Hi Michael, I want to avoid using macros since I'd have to disable the macro
virus warning to use it. That's the reason why I asked MS to incorporate it.
Truth be told, I haven't really tried making a macro for it since the PC I'm
using is a corporate PC and I'm not allowed to disable the macro warning
thing.

Hi Emmie. Your two suggestions are exactly what I've been looking for.
Actually I have a worksheet that seems to perform the =STORE function you're
suggesting but the code is locked up so I don't know how they do it. Do you
know of any way to perform your =STORE function now within Excel's present
capabilities? Maybe using SetLinkOnData to trigger a macro to copy the
present dde data piece to next cell down and then the second data piece to
the second cell down, using an embedded counter to calculate where to copy to.

Do you have any ideas? I don't have time to wait for Microsoft to
incorporate your suggestion in the next version. Many thanks.

Michael

I have a cell that takes in data via DDE.

I need a function, say, like =STORE(DDE_Cell,Range) that will store the
changing data from DDE_Cell into Range one cell at a time. When all the cells
in the range are filled, the next STORE will be back to the top cell. Then,
each successive change will overwrite the previous data.

A second, similar function is, say =FIFO(DDE_Cell,Range) that will store the
data from the DDE_Cell into the first or top cell of Range. The data in each
cell of Range is also moved to the next cell in shift register fashion. The
data in the last, bottom cell will be discarded.

Then, I can create a chart from Range where I can view the data like a
recorder.

Hope, you all like this. Please, please vote for this suggestion.

Thanks,
