Default Set up Form

Hello,

Although I have used Excel quite a bit, I have never tried to create a form.
Basically, something very similar to a Word form but want to make it in excel
because of more versatility with design and function. I have read some books
and am able to create the form itself like in Access however, I have two
questions:

1. I am not concerned with having the form attached to a worksheet if I can
do away with that great and if the worksheet needs to be there but I can
ignore it fine. If there is a way to do away with it please instruction me
how so I can have just the form itself.

2. When I close the form and save changes, I'll click on it to open and it
always opens in design view not as the standard ready to use format. To open
the form I always have to go to Tools, Macros, Visual Basic Editor and then
it will open in design view. How do I get it where I can click on the icon
and have it open as a ready to use form?

Please make answer simplified as I am not comfortable with these forms.

Thanks!!!
