If you are interested only in multiples of 1/8, I would be tempted to do:

=CHOOSE(1 + ROUND((A1-INT(A1))/0.125, 0),
"", "1/8", "1/4", "3/8", "1/2", "5/8", "3/4", "7/8", "")

You might want to select Format Cells Alignment Horizontal Right.
