What are the "differences" you are looking for? Cell color? Font?
Font color? Cell value? Bold? Text alignment? Comments? Number of cells
occupied? Number of blank cells? Etc. Etc. HTH Otto

Can anyone recommend a really good Excel worksheet comparison software
package? I've tried a couple out and they seem to miss things , or report
back in an obscure or unhelpful way.

I just need an accurate reliable program which will compare two worksheets
and show me the rows where the differences are.
