We are now at version 12 in Excel, and still no sign of improvement in such
critical areas such as true 3D spreadsheets (workbooks), a real version
manager (scenario manager), and entering cell references or strings as
criteria in database functions, instead of having to refer to ranges. In
other words, all amazing features that Lotus 1-2-3 has had for over a decade,
believe it or not.
Is it because Lotus has patents on these things?
I am very frustrated. I don't see a reason to upgrade to Excel 2007 since
apart from some cute window dressing, it is still the same application as
Excel 97.
When is the REAL innovation (or copying from others) going to happen at
Microsoft?!?
