Default Keep cursor in 1 cell

Rather than using the ENTER key to confirm the entry, press the up arrow (or
left arrow). Since you are in A1 there is nowhere to go but the entry is
completed.
OR, If you have a newer version of Excel then click the green arrow in the
Formula Bar to complete the entry. This will work in any row.
