How reduce the file size of Excel 2007 files (wasted non value spa
What does a slider bar have to do with the size of a file? If you have
excess data, select it and delete it, then save the document. If there's a
sufficient amount of data that you deleted, the file will be a smaller size.
In any event, XL 2007 files tend to be smaller in size than documents with a
similar amount of data formatted in previous versions. You may want to check
that you are actually saving the workbook in XL 2007 format, and not
compatibility mode.

In Excel 2003 after running VBA programs many times there was extra
data/garbage in rows that follow the primary data (but not viewable). I
would delete the data and immedately save the file and the size would be
greatly decreased. In 2007 I am working with more records but I cannot
reduce the files size through deletion of unused rows. The slider bar
indicator is small and moves down the row less than a quarter of the way when
I hit the end of my data.
