you can use sumproduct to do it,

=sumproduct(--(sheet1!d2:d100="Jack");(h2:h100))+sumproduct(--(sheet1!d2:d100="John");(h2:h100))+sumproduct(--(sheet1!d2:d100="mary");(h2:h100))+sumproduct(--(sheet1!d2:d100="kate");(h2:h100))
