If you're using Excel 2002 or later version, you can click the dropdown
arrow at the right of the AutoSum button, and select one of the functions.

If you're using an earlier version, choose DataFilterShow All, then
click the AutoSum button.

I am using autofilter in the data menu to filter data. When I use the
autosum icon, "=Subtotal()" automatically comes up in the cell. This is fine
until I change the filter, then it shows a different number until I go back
to the original filter get rid of all the filters. If I manually enter
"sum()" then I don't have the answer to the formula changing. I was
wondering if there is a way to get it to automatically enter "sum()" when I
am filtering and when I am click on the "Autosum" icon.
